Accountant

Ensure an accurate and timely monthly (by 15th of the following month unless otherwise specified), quarterly and year end close.Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and related reports.Prepare chart of accounts in the software for time and attendance. Maintain chart of accounts, allocations and reports within the financial accounting software. General ledger analysis of accounts.Reconcile monthly bank statements. Ensuring monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate mannerEnsure balance sheet reconciliations are available on a monthly basis.Determine asset schedules and related depreciation schedules. Support budget and forecasting activities.Analyze monthly accounts receivable to State quarterly allocations.Coordinate quarterly updates to Providerpro billing contracts and resolve issues with outside vendors.Support CFO with special projects or audits as required.Respond to inquiries from the CFO or Executive Director regarding financial results, special reporting requests and the like.Work with the CFO to ensure a timely and clean year end audit.Backup for Accounts Payable (AP functions)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Solid knowledge of the application of established accounting principles and techniques to standardize accounting transactions.
• General knowledge of established governmental and departmental budgeting and bookkeeping practices and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Works effectively with frequent interruptions and changing needs.
• Ability to present information clearly and concisely in oral and written form.
• Ability to work in a team and share responsibilities and duties.
• Ability to set priorities, work on multiple tasks, be organized and a self-starter.Ability to research accounting and regulatory issues.Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 to 5 years accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Great Plains. Experience with Time and Attendance systems.
