Job Description:
Summary of job responsibilities: Implementation of behavior
analysis educational and treatment programs of students in various
classroom settings, under the direction of the classroom teacher
and Director or designated Behavior Analyst. Collect data within
individual child measurement systems and participate in data
management. The Consulting Behavior Technician will participate as
a member of student treatment teams as directed by the Behavior
Analyst or Director of Clinical & Educational Services. Essential
functions and principle duties and responsibilities: Protect the
rights and dignities of individuals with developmental disabilities
and extend these rights and dignities to family members or
guardians. Uphold and comply with all safety programs and policies
to maintain a safe work environment for employees, consumers,
family members and visitors. Commit to organizational quality
initiatives by participating in programs that will assure quality
improvements and team processes. Implement instructional strategies
consistently and accurately as prescribed by the Behavior Analyst
and Program Director. Assist with implementation of student IEPs.
Implement teaching programs in a positive, supportive and proactive
manner at all times. Daily collaboration with the classroom teacher
and other professionals to ensure appropriate curriculum
modifications for student. Modify classroom curriculum to meet the
needs of the student. Implement behavioral measurement systems and
graphing of data daily. Assist in the preparation/facilitation of
student group activities. Assist in planning and preparing the
learning environment and creating/organizing daily student lesson
materials. Responsible for all aspects of child's educational
program, including self-care and toileting skills. Implement child
educational program in inclusive settings in public education
and/or other educational environments. This requires transportation
to and from such locations. Collaborate with various educational
professionals. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at
all times. Communicate any medical, physical, or other changes in
student status to teacher and nursing staff. Responsible for
any/all evacuation procedures. Responsible for performing other
duties and job assignments as required by the Director and Behavior
Analyst. Internal/External Relationships: Internal - Pathways
students and employees; Crayons students and staff; Trudeau staff.
External - Parents, families receiving services; students/staff of
public schools and other education professionals directly involved
in some component of a child's teaching/treatment program. Working
Conditions: Office and classroom conditions working directly with
students and staff; work with students will include teaching
self-care skills (e.g., toileting). In addition, work will be
conducted in various settings requiring transportation to and from
such locations and variable work hours depending on placement and
program needs. Additional considerations include work with
computers. Physical and Mental Requirements: Ability to deal with
the broad range of needs presented by children with autism,
including significant problem behaviors. Must be able to work with
children in situations involving physical contact. Work will often
include sitting in small chairs or on the floor and require rapid
movement (sometimes running) to address safety and teaching needs
of children. Education/Experience/Skills: Experience working with
children in a teaching capacity preferred. A minimum of an
associate's degree or a TA certification is required. A minimum of
two years' experience working in the field of applied behavior
analysis preferred. Must be amenable to instruction, able to follow
specific directions of supervisor(s), and receptive to feedback.
Must be willing to travel to various settings where consult
services are provided. Must be capable and ready to assume
leadership duties during working hours. Good interpersonal skills
are essential. Must have basic knowledge of various types of
technology. Must have valid driver's license, automobile insurance
and own the vehicle to be used, as directed, to provide
transportation. Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $20 Hourly
