We currently have an opportunity available at our Rhode Island headquarters for a Product Manager. The Product Manager will manage significant product lines for the TPA's Torayfan Division, with responsibility for Volume, Price, & Income goals. Primary interface on a day-to-day basis for assigned products with Field Sales, SAG Team, S&OP Team, R&D Manufacturing and Management. Also responsible for Sales & Marketing activity relative to New & Existing Product development, product line support, product line mix management, competitive analysis and advertising, public relations, tradeshow and internet promotion of specific product lines.

Essential Duties:

* Responsible for managing, promoting, directing and controlling related product lines to:

* Establish product line direction for existing products and product line extensions

* Marketing & promoting product lines

* Supporting and training sales staff

* Tracking revenue and margin

* Recommending pricing and targeting strategies for select market segments

* Identifying and initiating measures for product cost reductions via product consolidation, product composition, and/or rationalization

* Track industry trends, product segment growth and market share

* Day to day interfacing with Technical, Manufacturing, Finance and Logistics on product line related issues

* Create and Maintain the Product Data Sheets:

* Create New Data Sheets as Requested from Sales, NPD and/or R&D

* Maintain the Data Sheets according to the ISO Procedure(s)

* Maintain the Data Sheets on the Company Web Site

* Provide direction and guidance to the New Product Development team:

* Identify New Market or New Product Development opportunities

* Process these opportunities through the NPD Gating process and, if endorsed, provide Marketing leadership during the design, launch and commercialization of New Products. Drive change within and without the organization to promote New Product and New Market development activities

* Develop detailed competitive analysis within assigned areas to include:

* Identify key Fitness for Use product criteria by Market Segment

* Identify and analyze Competitive product types

* Develop competitive strengths/weaknesses assessment (SWAT)

* Develop competitive market pricing matrix to include price elasticity and pricing premium opportunities for TPA vs. the competition

* Recommend to management strategies which maximize growth and profitability while maintaining or increasing market share in value added product segments.

* Initiate and participate in the development of Marketing collateral to grow Existing and New value-added product offerings via:

* Advertising

* PR

* Web Site Design

* Product releases

* Brochures

* PC Based presentations

* Trade Show Participation

* Support Sales Force through:

* Joint Sales Calls, conference calls, and Internet conferences

* Provide support for Proposals for large Volume/Bid/Contract opportunities

* Routine Updates to Field Sales on Key Product Line events

* Product, market and application training presentations to Strategic Accounts

* Present to Management periodic updates on Product Line Performance vs. Budget:

* Monthly NPD (New Product Development) Meeting presentation

* Participation in the annual Profit Plan exercise

* Participation in the three-year Mid Term Planning exercise

* Support TPA's Sustainability efforts

* Support Sustainability activities including attending industry webinars and meetings like Association of Plastics Recyclers (APR) and Sustainable Packaging Coalition (SPC) for insights on trends and latest news

* Participate and drive discussions with suppliers for latest sustainable raw material options both current and future availability

* Update organization in a quarterly Sustainability PMT (Project Management Team) meeting on external Sustainability tracking such as new & future sustainable raw materials and technologies, legislation activities both locally, nationally and globally, customer inquiries and meetings

* Maintain TPA's Sustainability Presentation and support Sales during customer presentations as the topic expert

Skills & Qualifications Required:

* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams

* Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, and time management skills

* High Degree of Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Education & Experience Required:

* Bachelor's degree (required); MBA preferable but not required

* 2 to 3 years business experience in Films or related Packaging field

* Prior Sales or Marketing preferable but not required
