Job Description:
The Payroll Manager is responsible for entering weekly payroll
data into the computer, auditing payroll data and maintaining files
and records to produce accurate payroll period reports in
accordance with hotel standards. Communication skills are necessary
for interacting with other hotel departments, staff or guests.
Assure highest quality of the Department by working in an efficient
and conscious manner, as well as, maintaining and developing the
highest service standards possible. Maintain confidentiality of
pertinent hotel information. Mathematical skills, including basic
math, basic accounting, percentages and variances are used a large
portion of the time. Strong attention to detail.ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:Input employee schedules into the timekeeping system.Set
up new employees in the Payroll System, ensuring a copy of all
pertinent information is on file for each person.Process payroll
hours for each employee from the approved department hours
report.Print and distribute timekeeping management and exception
reports daily.Produce and distribute timekeeping management and
exception reports daily.Print and distribute Daily Hours
Productivity Report.Prepare monthly journal entries.All other
duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and
Controller.Prepare the monthly payroll journal entries and post to
the general ledger.QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED
equivalent.Must maintain current knowledge of applicable federal
and state wage and hour laws.Prior payroll or bookkeeping related
experience.Strong computer skills.Problem analysis and problem
resolution skills.Excellent attention to detail and mathematic
skills.Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other
Team Members.Read, write and speak English fluently.
