Primary responsibilities include:
The Risk Manager will support the Indirect Auto and Home Equity Lending business lines by providing knowledge and expertise to the front line units to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, with a specific focus on lending regulations, as evidenced in reduced compliance risk issues and positive test results.
Work within established timelines to deliver control self-testing and key risk indicator monitoring, risk issue identification and remediation, which are critical to determining control environment effectiveness. Assess material controls, monitor and evaluate proper escalation procedures are in place to ensure compliance with key rules and regulations. Partner with the Consumer Banking Centralized Testing Team on control testing and provide input on testing results. Keep the Director, First Line Risk Manager apprised of testing progress; provide an opinion on control effectiveness results including analysis of themes and findings.
The incumbent advises on new processes / products, initiatives and strategies from a risk and control perspective; guide the business unit(s) through the various governance approvals related to new initiatives; liaise with other risk areas and operations to ensure processes are designed with proper controls; and advocate on the business lines behalf to ensure effective and timely incorporation of risk management into everyday operations. The Risk Manager will act as risk support for exams, audits and internal reviews working with the business on gathering documentation and responding to requests. Assist the Director, Front Line Risk Manager with management reporting on control testing results, risk issues and other business risk related activities.
- 5+ years experience gained from working in financial services industry
- Basic knowledge of Indirect Auto and Home Equity Lending products and operations; regulatory requirements; and key controls and exposure areas
- Experience delivering under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Strong business writing skills Ability to calibrate message for various levels of management
- Experience with risk and control self assessment program elements
- Analytical thinking skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
- Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint and Visio Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
Hours & Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: M-F, 8-5pm
