Job Description:
Position Description: Develops software applications to achieve desired solutions to
business issues, using PL/SQL, SQL, Informatica, and ETL tools on
Oracle, Netezza, and Snowflake. Designs and develops applications
intended to serve as solutions to support the day-to-day business
of the organization. Uses business knowledge to translate the
vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by
developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting
studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project
development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to
development experts and management. Primary Responsibilities: Participates in architecture design teams. Defines and implements application level architecture. Develops applications on complex projects, components, and
subsystems for the division. Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and
reviews and validates test plans. Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables. Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications
or subsystems. Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects
across multiple platforms. Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget. Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for
projects. Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for
multiple projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various
project/technology issues. Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical
evaluation estimates on technology initiatives. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Performs independent and complex technical and functional
analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional
initiatives. Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going
development efforts. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
performing database design, development, testing, and maintenance
of quantitative fixed-income and investment management applications
within a distributed environment. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience performing database design,
development, testing, and maintenance of quantitative fixed-income
and investment management applications within a distributed
environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing logical and physical data
modeling of fixed income transactions, industry standard entities,
and security reference data, using Power Designer and Erwin;
performing data analysis, using SQL*Loader, NZ Loader, SQL, and
Toad Data Modeler; and supporting and researching financial
components of complex and large data sets within a fixed income
domain. DE designing and implementing data management processes to
extract data from OLTP data stores; acquiring vendor feeds
(Factset, Bloomberg, Morningstar, and Lipper) to process
quantitative analytics; and modelling fixed-income securities --
fund and index performance measurements, predictive risk modeling,
alpha research, and performance attribution -- using Perl, Python,
Oracle PL/SQL, and NZPLSQL. DE performing ETL processes with complex data transformations,
using Informatica PowerCenter, SQL*Loader, Perl, Python, Unix shell
scripting, and XML Parsing; performing full life cycle analysis of
quantitative applications running in Fixed Income Data Stores,
Fixed Income Portfolio DataMarts, and Asset Management Warehouses,
using Oracle (12c/11g/10g/9i/8i), OLAP, and OLTP database;
designing, developing, and tuning complex database applications,
using PL/SQL with TOAD for Oracle, Rapid SQL, and SQL developer;
and creating, managing, and scheduling batch jobs using
Autosys. DE creating a data lake of complex financial data sets used for
alpha research on IBM Netezza and Snowflake, using big data
processing techniques and solutions -- Aginity Workbench, Snow CLI,
DBeaver, and Snowflake Console; performing source code management
and version control, using Atlassian Stash and Atlassian JIRA (for
project management); and integrating DevOps tools (Jenkins, Stash,
Nexus, and Udeploy) for automated deployments to build and promote
Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
