The E-Commerce Fraud Analyst is responsible for protecting
Company assets by analyzing e-commerce data, monitoring online
trends, identifying e-com fraud, and resolving online
investigations to minimize internal and external theft.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement comprehensive fraud detection rule-based strategies
based on analysis of trends that balance fraud loss, customer
service and brand impact
Use multiple investigative tools to identify online fraud
activity including account take over, theft and friendly fraud
Stay abreast of current trends in credit card theft, online
threats and work with partners to create and implement processes to
reduce the frequency of occurrence
Create and maintain metrics for measuring the success of fraud
Identify potential stolen products offered via online channels
(Ebay, Craigslist, Coupon sites) when possible and identify sources
for potential prosecution and/or recovery of product
Review, investigate and track suspicious activity, analyze
trends, communicate fraud/security threats to management and
provide recommendations to Finance, IT, Operations and multiple
other departments for loss mitigation as needed
Contact customers directly regarding transactions when there is
a question of potential fraud; validate data and take appropriate
next steps. Occasionally, partner with and provide information to
Customer Service to help resolve a dispute.
Educate and partner with field Loss Prevention (LP) leadership
and assist with the LP program as it relates to any
online/multi-channel fraud detection
- Recommend new software tools used for fraud detection,
prevention and reporting activities
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
1 - 3 years of experience working within a fraud department
required. Retail experience preferred
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
Knowledge of fraud tools and fraud queues
Knowledge of point of sale (POS) exception reporting software,
including building filters and sub reports
