Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil Project Manager to play a key role on our team in Rhode Island. The ideal candidate will have experience in highway/roadway design, project management and business development in the Northeast. This position will provide technical leadership in the pursuit process, including proposal preparation, estimating project costs, negotiations, project profitability and quality. Additional responsibilities will be assisting with proposal preparations and presentations, coordinating project schedules and assisting in identifying and cultivating new business and clients. This position requires the ability to manage projects, liaise with clients and government agencies, and direct teams. SUMMARY

The Civil Project Manager II is a fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of subject matter or functional area of technical assignments. Independently performs most assignments with instruction only regarding general expected results. Receives technical guidance for unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval of proposed project plans. Represents company in communications with clients from initial effort and throughout entire course of agreement activity. Supervises a few engineers and/or drafters on a project basis.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

* Prepares and designs plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for public and private sector clients. * Ensures documents are in compliance with state and local codes, laws, ordinances, and agency requirements. * Prepares site plans and authors due diligence studies. Leads efforts in the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications. * Makes independent decisions within a general framework. * Is active in technical societies. * Published engineering papers and/or articles. * Responsible for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion. * Works closely with clients. * Takes an active role in contract negotiations, project planning, project quality, and project profitability. * Oversees project budgets. * Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects. * Plans, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of project work. * Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable. * Provides leadership in proposal preparation, project scoping and estimating project costs. * Responsible for maintaining meaningful relationships with clients. * Represents Collins in project meetings. * Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours. * Directs and supervises the work of other engineers, drafters and administrative staff. * Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety. * Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university, plus appropriate continuing education and a minimum of 5 years of experience, with 3 years' or more experience in project management. * Has proficient knowledge of engineering software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D. * Extensive experience in highway/roadway civil design projects a must. * RIDOT, MassDOT and local municipal experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

* Professional Engineer (P.E.) required * Valid driver's license
