The HR Generalist is charged with providing top quality support to all company employees and partnering with management to ensure people and business needs align. This is a full cycle HR position responsible for recruitment, new hire onboarding, employee relations, coordination of benefits, compliance with employment law, and payroll among other functions. The HR Generalist may also take on various administrative support and office management functions as part of their regular responsibilities. HR Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for “Full-Cycle” recruitment, on-boarding, and off-boarding process
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating policies/procedures, employee relations, disciplinary actions and conflict resolution
  • Work with outside brokerage firm and outsourced HR vendor to organize annual benefits meetings and Open Enrollment
  • Serve as 401k committee member and point of contact
  • Manage Unemployment- responding and attending hearings as needed
  • Prepare for and attend Executive meetings and Leadership meetings
  • Manage Workers Comp including electronic claims, coordinating witnesses, and responding to questions
  • Head of Safety Committee and Green Committee
  • Manage and coordinate state programs, including but not limited to: OJT, Workshare, and Prepare RI Internships
  • Responsible for Performance Review process
  • File annual EEO and OSHA reporting
  • Travel to Orlando annually and build relationships with teams in Florida and California

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate requests for overtime and temporary labor and issue and track Amex corporate cards
  • Submit and follow up on Visa and Passport requests
  • Update company organizational chart to reflect all changes
  • Order and post required labor law posters for all company locations
  • Schedule meetings with vendors and coordinate Spanish translations as needed
  • Coordinate various internal company programs, events, employee gifts, and lunches

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Ability to work with outside HR vendor and legal counsel to navigate legal issues and requests, ideal candidate will be familiar with FL, CA, RI, IL, NY laws
  • At least 5 years of progressive HR experience
  • Comfortable managing a wide range of HR and administrative functions in a fast-paced work environment
  • Deep understanding of Labor Law and employment equity regulations
  • Efficient HR administration and people management skills
  • Solid knowledge of HR functions and best practices
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial safety laws and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work comfortably under pressure and meets tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with software-based payroll applications required
  • Strong organizational and conflict management skills
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately follow instructions and keep information highly confidential
