The Marketing Analyst Level I is responsible for helping the marketing team evaluate the success of marketing and advertising campaigns. This role works closely with the Marketing Analyst Manager and others to develop self-service reports for marketing channels, run in-depth analyses of campaigns, and provide recommendations on future strategies or optimizations based on these learnings.

The Marketing Analyst Level I executes regular reporting for the eCommerce campaigns, including digital channel and website metrics reporting, and performs ad hoc eCommerce analytics requests.


  • Accurately collect, report, and analyze raw data in a timely manner, including data from the website, eCommerce sales, loyalty tracking, Customer Lifetime Value, customer lifecycle, marketing acquisition, promotional campaigns, and website and email effectiveness
  • Compile processed data to develop and provide deeper insights into improving the business, including increasing customer trips, driving up the average order value, and building eCommerce sales
  • Expand and automate existing digital marketing dashboards and develop eCommerce site performance dashboards informed by granular analytics
  • Compile and analyze data for the weekly print flyer and share results with relevant stakeholders
  • Partner with internal business partners to create new tracking and analysis methods including digital data tagging and collection methods
  • Write code in SQL, Google Sheets, and Google Apps Script to generate metrics and KPIs to understand performance across customer groups, programs and channels
  • Drive data-oriented insights and learnings to inform marketing and advertising department decisions, including quantifying opportunity size for major digital marketing initiatives and strategies
  • Translate raw data and marketing results into clear and concise findings, and work with the marketing analyst team to prepare executive summaries and eCommerce business reviews
  • Determine reporting and data needs from the marketing team and independently build solutions to provide insight and visibility into funnel behavior and program performance



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Economics, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or similar field required
  • Up to 2 years of experience in digital marketing, IT, or marketing analytics preferred-ideally within retail industry
  • Excellent data analysis skills within Google Sheets or Excel required
  • Good technical skills preferred: SQL, experience with a modern programming language (e.g. Python), experience with a statistical processing language (R, matlab), and experience with a data visualization/BI tool (Google Data Studio, Tableau, Looker, Spotfire)
  • Oracle Responsys and OCC platform experience preferred
  • Some experience building and/or using martech and personalization tools (CRM, ESP, BI, DMP, CMS) preferred
  • Proficient in Google platform (i.e. sites, slides, drive, docs, sheets)
