Assist with daily operations of Newport Hospital's Physicians
assigned to Turner 1. Includes duties such as reception typing
maintaining medical records scheduling preparing examination areas
and billing procedures.

Completes mandatory safety management education.
Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality
Performs reception duties to include:
Answers and directs phone calls appropriately
Greets and directs patients appropriately
Escorts patients to examination rooms as needed
Notifies physicians of patient arrival
Recording messages accurately
Returns phone calls when requested by physicians
Responds to patient medication refill requests inform
physician/contact pharmacy by end of day.
Picks up physicians mail (Turner 1 mail and hospital box) and
check physicians outgoing box for messages/completed forms. Sort
incoming mail and attach pertinent forms/messages to patient charts
Schedules/coordinates patient appointments
Maintains medical records:
Prepares charts (patient information HIPAA related form billing
Files reports in charts
Copies medical record as needed
Accurately transcribes physicians dictation as needed.
Accurately types physicians correspondence as requested.
Orders and maintains office and examination room supplies.
Assists physicians with literature searches as requested.
Mails satisfaction survey(s) to discharged prosthetic and
orthotic clinic patients.
Record Inpatient charges on service logs. Prepares Outpatient
charges. Submits to Newport Professional Serv.
Accepts and records payments received from patients and
Prepares / maintains examination rooms for patients:
Cleans clinical equipment
Submits repair requests
Operates and maintains office equipment (Telephone Word
processor Copy machine Fax machine Computer)
High School diploma (or equivalent) and medical secretarial
