Job Description SummaryBASIC FUNCTION:Under general supervision, support the clinical research mission of the Alzheimer's biomarker laboratory and HCV diagnostics laboratory by conducting specific research protocols, including data management and assisting with experiments including data collection, preparation, and cleanup. Research involves interaction with human subjects. This position will be split 50% with the Alzheimer's Biomarker Lab and 50% with the HCV Diagnostics Clinical Study.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide support for data collection and analysis for specific research protocols as assigned by both Principal Investigators.Assist in data management and analysis of data for assigned projects in Alzheimer's Biomarker Lab for a multi-site observational study of retinal biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease.Assist in preparation of project protocols and intervention and assessment materials for both labs.Conduct research protocols in conjunction with PI of HCV Diagnostics Study. Recruit and enroll eligible participants at a Providence methadone maintenance program; assist participants through the study process.Maintain documentation of data collection and assist with data management and data entry into a computer database. Collect research data by accurately completing all visit forms and documenting activities as directed. Maintain accurate and up to date study records ensuring and respecting confidentiality.Schedule appointments and maintain calendar.Maintain and complete all paperwork, forms, and logs associated with study protocols. Draft meeting minutes. Assist in maintaining office procedures.Maintain project and clinic policies regarding confidentiality.Attend regularly scheduled supervision, team meetings, conference calls and program meetings as required by PIs.Work collaboratively with staff in both the Alzheimer's Biomarker Lab and the HCV Diagnostics Study.Maintain quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control in accordance with established hospital, University and department policies, procedures, and objectives.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform other duties as required.LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT:Personal computers, printers; word processing, database and spreadsheet software; RedCap database management. Must provide own transportation.

Required QualificationsREQUIRED:

1. Bachelor's degree.

2. Minimum of two years' experience in clinical research.

3. Demonstrated strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

4. Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.

5. Demonstrated time management and organization skills.

6. Demonstrated problem solving skills.

7. Demonstrated ability to protect confidential health information.

8. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.

9. Must provide own transportation.

Environmental ConditionsThe HCV Diagnostics Study is conducted in a patient care environment with potential exposure to infectious disease. COVID-19 vaccination is required. The Alzheimer's Biomarker Laboratory will be based on URI, Kingston Campus.
