Job Description:
Rebuilders Automotive Supply (RAS) is a privately held, family
owned, environmentally friendly and service-conscious company
serving the automotive aftermarket industry for over 50 years. The
RAS team supports three strategic business units: Cores, Catalytic
Converters (CAT) and Recall with locations in Coventry, RI and
Tampa, Fl. We proudly boast being green since 1972.RAS is an
aggregator of used automotive parts, generating over 17,000
shipments annually and growing. The Freight Coordinator is an
integral part of the logistics team and works closely with our
buying groups and warehouse as one team to enhance overall supplier
and customer satisfaction while ensuring a high level of service.
The Freight Coordinator is responsible for executing various daily
freight activities for all strategic business units. Working in a
team environment the coordinator will execute processes, monitor,
and update systems, and leverage internal resources to facilitate
the needs of all shipping stakeholders. Daily logistics operations
will primarily focus on - covering shipments/placements,
documentation, and execution of parcel, LTL, TL, international
inbound/outbound, and rail shipments. Tasks to include:
- Utilize system requests & reports to queue, document, and track
shipments and ensure accurate, compliant, & timely completion
- Perform QC tasks for final tender to carriers ensuring accurate
documentation (ie labeling, BOL, packing list)
- Supervise, train and back-up Shipper/Receiver(s)
- Maintain working knowledge of federal, state, local, and
international hazardous material/waste transportation regulations
for all applicable modes of transport.
- Utilize carrier sites to gather shipping cost quotes and
communicate to internal customers as needed.
- Track Carrier issues, monitor carrier execution, report on
service failures, assist with resulting corrective actions.
- Participate in cost control within area of responsibility.In
addition to the requirements below, successful candidates will
demonstrate a strong discipline in following SOP's, possess a
high-level of organizational skills and be proactive in planning.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a freight coordinator or
similar administrative role directly supporting multi-channel
logistics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong
interpersonal skills are required to work with carrier and 3PL
counterparts and support SBUs in a timely and professional
manner.
- Strong system skills - proficient in utilizing Transportation
Management Systems (TMS), MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and
carrier portals and interfaces.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment, able to perform
staging tasks including operating a forklift and occasional

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, must be flexible for
