Full Job DescriptionWe are looking for a professional Housing Standards Officer to fill a vacancy in Warwick.
Housing Standards Officer (Hybrid Working)From: -15.50 p/hContract: 37 hours per weekLocation: Warwick
Roles and responsibilities:* To work independently to arrange and undertake accommodation checks, having regard to the Housing Health & Safety Rating System.* To report on whether there is sufficient space for guests having regard to the statutory overcrowding standard under Part X Housing Act 1985, whilst at the same time applying some flexibility to take account of individual circumstances.* You will be responsible for recording accurate inspection notes and completing the necessary administrative forms in a methodical manner.* Based on hybrid-working, you will split your time between property inspections and home/office for report writing.
Experience & Requirements:* Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written and adopt a pragmatic approach to ensure properties are free from serious hazards and suitable for guests arriving from Ukraine.* At least an HNC or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline together with at least 2 years' experience.* Experience of drafting written correspondence to customers as well as liaising with them on a face-to-face basis and on the telephone. * Excellent, up to date knowledge of building construction, specifications and technical standards relevant to the private rented sector and adaptation works.
