A Clinical Lab Technician is needed in Warwick, RI!Hours: Mon - Fri 10:30 pm to 7:00 am; and every other weekendLocation: Warwick, RICompetitive Hourly Rate! Apply directly with klekich@alinestaffing.comSummary: Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. . Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager.Responsibilities: * Responsible for analyzing, evaluating and interpreting various specimens for the detection, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of medical conditions.* Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis of patient specimens according to established procedures.* Perform specimen collection and other specimen handling duties as needed.* Operate complex biomedical electronic instrumentation including calibration, maintenance, quality assurance and troubleshooting.* Perform and analyze quality control procedures including daily testing, recording, problem resolution and compiling reports to assure accuracy of all results.* Review and verify the accuracy of tests results before entering into information system. Investigate unusual test results and report clinically significant information appropriately. Interpret results when requested.* Maintain a proper inventory of supplies needed in order to provide continuous service, minimizing downtime.Job Requirements:Requirements:* Bachelor's degree in a Medical/Science field* Minimum of six months job-related experience or equivalent is required. ASCP or NCA is also required.* At least 2 years of blood bank (transfusion medicine) experience required* Must have Phlebotomy experience* Cerner LIS system experience highly preferredLab instrument experience preferred:a. Immucor Echob. Sysmex XN-3100c. IL ACL Top 500d. IRIS Urinalysis (Velocity/IQ200)e. Beckman Chemistry AU
