Description Summary:APPLICATION DEADLINE: The search will remain
open until the position has been filled. First consideration will
be given to applications received by December 29, 2021. Second
consideration may be given to applications received by January 29,
2022. Applications received subsequent to second consideration date
(January 29, 2022) may not be given full consideration.
FUNCTION:Work under the direction of faculty investigators to
program and analyze data for the evaluation of causal effects in
network-based studies of HIV prevention among people who use drugs.
Assist in developing and implementing new methods at the
intersection of causal inference and network science, performing
analyses of network and clustered studies, writing project reports,
and presenting results to the study team and external
collaborators. Liaise with team members and collaborators and have
project related responsibilities across multiple study data bases.
Duties and Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with the coding and implementation of
methods developed in the project and the development of
user-friendly software and documentation for the approaches,
including web-based applications. Research literature about
spillover effects in intervention studies among people who use
drugs. Analyze data sets with network features and clustering using
R software, and quantify and interpret results from different
statistical methods, including generalized linear mixed models and
generalized estimating equations. Report and present study
findings. Support the team in organizing trainings and workshops to
disseminate project methods. Develop and disseminate public
versions of the study data sets used in this project, when
appropriate and permitted by the collaborating study teams.OTHER
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain the team website on the URI
server and deploy web-based applications for the project methods.
Utilize project management software in working with project team
members to organize progress on project objectives. Organize team
meetings and prepare meeting minutes for review by the PI and team.
Perform other duties, as assigned.LICENSES, TOOLS AND
EQUIPMENT:Personal computers, server computers, printers; LaTeX,
word processing, PowerPoint, Excel, database management, SAS, and R
or Python.Required Qualifications:REQUIRED:1. Masters degree in
biostatistics, statistics with a health focus, data science with a
health focus, epidemiology, population-based health research,
social science research with a health focus, or related field.2.
Minimum of four years of research experience.3. Demonstrated
experience in the use of R, SAS, or other statistical software.4.
Demonstrated presentation skills.5. Demonstrated ability to
multitask in a fast-paced environment.6. Demonstrated
organizational and prioritization skills.7. Demonstrated ability to
work both as part of a team and independently.8. Demonstrated
strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.9.
Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.10.
Demonstrated ability to write effectively in scientific formats.11.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse
groups/populations.Preferred Qualifications:PREFERRED: 1. Minimum
four years of research experience in public health,
population-based health research, and/or social science research
with a health focus.2. Demonstrated experience performing data
analyses and software/program development.3. Demonstrated
experience in the use of Python statistical software.4.
Demonstrated familiarity with causal inference, network science,
substance use research, or HIV
